International forwarder

About Lalemant Trucking

Lalemant Trucking, part of the maritime group Lalemant (established in 1885) with headquarters in Belgium and offices all over Europe, is looking for an international forwarder in Romania.

Responsibilities

You will play a key role in managing and coordinating international transport operations, ensuring the smooth execution of logistics activities while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for planning, organizing, and monitoring international road transport operations (LTL/FTL), Express services, and multimodal transport solutions, in line with customer requirements and company standards.

You will report directly to the Operations Manager / Branch Manager and works closely with the Sales Team, other internal departments, and transportation partners, acting as a key link between customers and the transport network.

Success in this role is measured by:

  • Ensuring on-time deliveries while optimizing transportation costs.
  • Maintaining effective communication with customers, carriers, partners, and suppliers.
  • Proactively resolving operational issues that may arise during transportation.
  • Contributing to the development of long-term commercial relationships and supporting the company’s profitability and growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and monitor international transport operations (road freight and multimodal transport).
  • Negotiate and establish commercial conditions with carriers and business partners.
  • Maintain proactive relationships with customers, providing support and tailored logistics solutions.
  • Prepare and manage transport-related documentation, including CMRs, AWBs, Bills of Lading, invoices, customs declarations, and other relevant documents.
  • Monitor transport execution and provide regular status updates to customers and management.
  • Handle customer complaints and identify fast, effective solutions for operational non-conformities.
  • Collaborate closely with operational colleagues, other departments, and group agencies to achieve common objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with international transport regulations and internal company procedures.

Skills

  • 3–5 years of experience in international transport and logistics.
  • Solid knowledge of international road freight operations and transport procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Romanian and English (French is a plus).
  • Strong negotiation skills and a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Good organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Team-oriented, adaptable, and capable of working independently.
